Event and Tour Highlights

Projects of which to be Proud

I have been working as a tour guide since 2011 and as an event planner since 2015. In this time, I've researched and written several unique walking tours in Chicago and ran all sorts of events—everything from scavenger hunts to silent film screenings, jazz concerts to theatre organ demonstrations, and more. Below are a few highlights from my career so far.

Unique Chicago Tours

September 2018

I was proud to be an associate producer for Into the Veil with Atlas Obscura at Graceland Cemetery in Septemer 2018. This event was the largest event at that time produced by Atlas Obscura outside of New York. Guests were able to stroll through the cemetery on paths lit by tealights, sipping cocktails and enjoying music, dance, and various tableaux celebrating art in the cemetery.

Winter 2018 & 2019

The First Ward Ball is a historic recreation of a corrupt political fundraiser from Chicago's past. Hosted by Atlas Obscura, this 200 person event has run in 2018 and 2019. I am a co-producer on the event along with my collaborator Patti Swanson. The party features music, faux gambling, drag performances, burlesque performances, historical lectures, a cocktail robot, drinks, dancing and more. With so many moving pieces, it is a challenge to put together but ultimately a blast of an educational party.

2015-Today

I have been researching, writing, and running my own horror history tours since October 2015. These tend to focus on a few areas: exploring strange deaths as researched on for my site Dead in Chicago, delving into the history of different disasters in downtown Chicago, and tours on movie palaces and early silent film history.
